There are 3 main steps involved in setting up and getting your PayPal account verified and approved. There are:

Part 1: Set up of your PayPal account online

Part 2: Verify your PayPal account

Part 3: Request approval for your discounted Not-For-Profit commission rates

These steps are described in the overview sections below. This will guide you through each part

STEP 1 – SET UP YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT

Step 1: Browse to the www.PayPal.co.uk website and click the ‘Sign Up’ button

Step 2: Choose the ‘Business Account’ option

Step 3: Enter your email address

Step 4: Enter you club details

Step 5: Choose the type of account you want to set up

Step 6: Enter the details of the person registering the account

Step 7: Answer the remaining questions

Step 8: Enter your name and submit the application

YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT IS NOW SETUP AND READY FOR LINKING TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT

Part 2: Verifying your PayPal account.

You can verify your PayPal account by linking your PayPal account with your bank account

Step 1: Browse to the www.PayPal.co.uk website and login. Then click the My Account button and select ‘Business Set-up’ menu item.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Account set-up’ button and then click on ‘Link your bank account’ menu

Step 3: Enter your bank details and click the ‘Add bank account’ button

PayPal will do a ‘penny test’ to verify the account. They will transfer 1p from your bank account to your PayPal account. You will then need to enter the reference number of the transaction on your bank statement to verify the account.

Part 3: Apply for reduced Not-For-Profit commission rates.

Sports clubs can apply for PayPal’s reduced Not-For-Profit rates using their Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) status.
